Karabely'n was created for the purpose of spreading the vibrant beauty of the Haitian culture beyond our country's physical borders. Our clothes, hand-sown and hand-painted, represent both the industriousness and the artistic genius of the Haitian people.

At Karabely’n, we have a wide variety of styles for different occasions and different personalities. Each item of clothing is unique in that no two clothes contain the same art. Thus, owning one of our pieces is a personalized and valuable experience.

All of our clothes are made to represent Haiti's traditional garb: the Karabela dress. Typically a light blue cotton fabric, the Karabela dress has been worn by Haitian women since the 18th century during formal occasions, like weddings. Today, it can usually only be seen at events where the Haitian culture is being highlighted, such as parades or traditional folk dances. Our goal at Karabely’n is to re-popularize Karabela clothing by bringing a parcel of this beautiful tradition into the homes of Haitian people everywhere. We hope to make every Karabely’n customer a proud exhibit of Haitian culture as they go about their everyday lives.
